Default Christmas tree for Guild Hall!

Remember Anet said they'll make guild hall more customizable?

This is their chance!

Well, the thing is, not everyone in Guild Wars is a Christian, and Christmas is a Christian holiday, so this is so of biased towards one religion, which ANet doesn't want. That is why Wintersday is Wintersday and not Christmas.

erm christmas tree is not christian,

Quote from wikipedia: With likely origins in Europe, the Christmas tree has gained an extensive history and become a common sight during the winter season in numerous cultures.

"Christmas trees" are simply everygreens, as Magie's quote entails many religeons which respect life have found Evergreens to be quite a good example of persiverance.

They appear alot in Paganism for example, however, continued discussion on this line will make the thread get closed, so I'll shut up, this is not the place for me to start a religeous debate.

Have the trees the exact same designs as those around Kamadan and LA and call it that.

You know..these trees can be like those NPCs in guild hall, where you need to buy them with plats. So if you're not Christian, you don't have to buy it. And maybe even a giant menorot for Hanukkah.

I like mega mouse's Idea.

Oh, and a side note- Christmas trees, Mistletoe, The nativity...all that was stolen by christianity from pagan cultures to make it (christmas/Jesus) more acceptable among pagans socially.

Would be nice to be able to add different statues and the like to your guild hall... and trees... ornaments... If GW wants to be more open about it: budda statues, christmas trees, palm trees with lights, and other "pagan" objects for the holidays. Still they hold wintersday ANYWAY and it has snowmen, presents, christmas trees and the like so they might as well make them available in the guild halls. Add a nice touch for the holidays, yes?

Don't be a moron. Wintersday is christmas. Do you see any menorah's or stars of David? Grandfather Nikolas, Elder Skrooj, Rudy the red nosed reindeer, christmas trees in every town, the grenchy who stole wintersday...this is such a Christmas event. Trying to cover it up by calling it "wintersday" was the stupidest thing arenanet's done to an event.

(Flame mode)

WHAT IS YO PROBLEM- CHRISTMAS ISN'T CHRISTIAN ANY MORE! IT'S ALL ABOUT GREED! FOOLS!

(Understandable mode)

Basically.. christmas trees are now objects of making a housewife suck up to visitors for christmas now... And was it ever Christian? I mean think about it... You go out and buy presents trying to find the very best one... You are greedy because you want to open all your presents NOW... St. Nick and Honnika (did I spell that right?) is battling it out... People still celebrate it even if they're not Christian... shall I go on?
And christmas wasn't even Jesus' birthday-It was a roman holiday during the winter. Noone knows exactly when Jesus was born, and noone ever will.

Eh, this suggestion is a bit to late to be added anyway. Christmas is less then a week away, it isn't like a.net will have a ton of time to be able to do this. Maybe next year.

A guess? And there's 365 (sometimes 366) days in a year, how can you be sure?

heh..

Jesus was born on april fools day Some stars told me

But seriously, people believe they got the date wrong by a full 4-6 years due to crappy calendars. Don't you like how wonderfully off topic this is getting?

i could get into this debate, but i dont want the thread to get closed because i actually see potential in this idea.

maybe instead of just holiday items, anet could come up with some aesthetic items or other things for our guild halls.(after christmas of course ) Even something simple like displaying your guild banner everywhere would be cool.
